Three-Year Leave for Hagen’s Senior Emergency DoctorA senior doctor was paid full salary from 2023 to 2026 during suspension while prosecutors investigate potential legal issues.
- Prosecutors in Hagen are examining possible criminal implications of the senior emergency doctor’s three-year paid leave costing about 300,000 euros.
- The doctor, employed for 28 years, was dismissed without clear reasons and rejected a proposed transfer to the health department.
- An out-of-court settlement ensures full salary payments until retirement in 2026 despite the doctor not working.
- The SPD faction requested a confidential explanation from the mayor at the city council meeting on May 16.
Without any prejudgment or speculation, we will let the administration explain how the situation is presented. Only then can we make a judgment on the matter and recognize whether there is any misconduct.— Jörg Klepper, Chairman of the CDU faction in the Hagen Council.
