- The pub did not reopen after the second lockdown and has remained closed since December 2020.
- The community aims to raise £300,000 by 18 March 2023 to purchase the pub.
- Residents held eight garden pop-up pubs in summer 2022 and now offer monthly pop-inns at the village hall.
- Owners initially proposed four houses and later offered a small bar; the community rejected the proposal by 214 votes to none.
At the moment, there's loads of pubs closing, and we're trying to buck the trend at completely the wrong time, but there is the community desire to see the pub open.— Tom Critchley, chair of the management committee of the Holcombe Rogus Community Benefits Society, describing the effort to save the village pub.
