Heat and Storms Mark May Weather Shift in GermanyTemperatures may reach 30°C by late May, with severe thunderstorms possible from mid-May onward amid changing air masses.
- Late May temperatures in southern and eastern Germany are expected to reach up to 30 degrees Celsius, similar to July levels.
- A high-pressure system moving toward Eastern Europe brings warm, humid air from the southwest into Germany.
- Atlantic low-pressure fronts approaching from the west collide with warm air, raising the risk of severe storms starting mid-May.
- May's weather remains variable with localized thunderstorms, potentially affecting the Pentecost holiday period.
We will reach 30 degrees.— Meteorologist Jan Schenk, in a weather talk with Focus Online
