Quick Glance: Ticket Price Increases by Deutsche Bahn Starting December 2024

Starting December 15, 2024, Deutsche Bahn will raise ticket prices for long-distance travel, with Flex prices increasing by an average of 5.9% and Bahncard 100 by 6.6%.

The prices for Spar- and Superspar tickets will remain unchanged, while the Bahn justifies the increases citing rising costs and recent collective agreements.

The Federal Association of Consumer Advocates criticizes these price hikes, noting they come at a time of declining punctuality and service quality.

In 2023, Deutsche Bahn reported a loss of 2.4 billion euros and is implementing a recovery plan to improve train punctuality over the next few years.
