- In a court notice on Thursday, Bragg’s office disclosed they had just received “approximately 31,000” additional pages of records from federal prosecutors in New York, who previously investigated the 2016 hush money payments forming the basis of the district attorney’s charges against Trump.
- Following Trump’s departure from a federal court hearing in Fort Pierce, Fla., where his attorneys evidently faced challenges convincing a judge to dismiss a separate set of criminal charges alleging mishandling of classified papers and hindering government efforts to recover them, the latest legal twist in the case unfolded.

Trump Says Some Migrants Are ‘Not People’ and Predicts a ‘Blood Bath’ if He Loses
nytimes.com/2024/03/16/us/politics/trump-speech-ohio.html
Quick Glance: Trump Defends 'Bloodbath' Comment and Claims Critics, Media Misinterpreted
- Former President Donald Trump accused the media and Democrats of misconstruing his warning of a 'bloodbath' if he loses the election to President Joe Biden - emphasizing he was speaking about the fate of the auto industry, rather than threatening political violence, as his political adversaries and some pundits have suggested.
- Trump wrote on Truth Social Monday that 'the Fake News Media, and their Democrat Partners in the destruction of our Nation . . . fully understood' he was referencing the auto industry when he told a crowd in Dayton, Ohio, over the weekend: 'if I don't get elected it's going to be a bloodbath for the whole—that's gonna be the least of it.' But some went further, with Biden's re-election campaign calling Trump 'a loser who . . . doubles down on his threats of political violence' in a statement in response to Trump's use of the word.
- Trump expanded on his statements on Truth Social Monday, alleging that 'imports allowed by Crooked Joe Biden' are 'killing the automobile industry' while targeting the president's push for more electric vehicle manufacturing in an appeal to auto workers concerned about job loss from the transition to EVs.
- Former Vice President Mike Pence, who said last week he would not endorse Trump's 2024 bid, defended Trump's 'bloodbath' comments in a CBS interview on Sunday, stating that 'the president was clearly talking about the impact of imports devastating the American automotive industry.'

- A federal appeals court ruled on Thursday that former Trump adviser Peter Navarro cannot remain out of prison during his appeal against his conviction for refusing to comply with a congressional subpoena related to the Capitol attack on January 6, 2021.
- The District of Columbia Circuit Court of Appeals essentially upheld the judge's decision that Navarro's appeal does not pose a 'significant legal question' justifying his release.
- Following his conviction last year on two contempt of Congress charges, 74-year-old Navarro was sentenced to four months in prison and is set to report to a Miami prison on Tuesday. This would mark him as the first prominent Trump adviser to serve jail time for endeavors to challenge the 2020 election.
- Navarro stated to reporters after his conviction that he anticipates his case to reach the Supreme Court to address concerns about executive privilege for high-ranking White House officials.

FCC has finally redefined which internet speeds are 'broadband': Biden's FCC is doing what Trump's FCC refused to do.
mashable.com/article/fcc-changes-broadband-speed-benchmark
Quick Glance: Historic Increase in Broadband Speed by FCC
- The FCC recently decided to significantly raise the minimum threshold for fixed high-speed broadband speed. The download benchmark is being increased from 25 megabits per second (Mbps) to 100Mbps, representing a massive 300% increase that is urgently needed in today's hyper-connected landscape.
- Similarly, the minimum upload speed is seeing a substantial boost. The FCC agreed to raise it from 3Mbps to 20Mbps, which marks a significant 567% increase. The new minimum upload speed for broadband is now just under 5Mbps lower than the previous download metric.
- The updated speed metrics are based on standards currently used in multiple federal and state programs, as well as consumer patterns and the actual offerings marketed by internet service providers.
- According to the latest broadband audit, 24 million Americans do not have access to fixed terrestrial broadband connections (excluding satellite), including 28% in rural areas and 23% of people living in tribal areas. Additionally, 45 million Americans do not have access to both 100/20 Mbps fixed services and 35/3 Mbps mobile 5G-NR services.
