Quick Glance: Bucharest's Open Streets Event Commences 2024 Edition this Weekend
- The 'Open Streets, Bucharest - Urban Promenade', the largest outdoor project organized by the City Hall, will kick off its fourth edition this Saturday, April 6. Until October 13 this year, Calea Victoriei and various other city streets will transform into pedestrian-only zones over weekends.
- Throughout the 2024 edition, the temporary pedestrian areas will be filled with a range of activities including theater performances, dance displays, live street music, workshops for kids, exhibitions, sports events, and recreational spaces.
- Calea Victoriei will be designated as pedestrian-only during the initial weekend on April 6-7, from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm, along the stretch from Victoriei Square to the intersection with Gheorghe Manu street and the Dacia Boulevard - Splaiul Independenței section.
- During the Open Streets event weekends, vehicular traffic on Calea Victoriei will be halted from 11:00 pm to 9:00 am (Saturday to Sunday) for safety reasons, with the additional closure of bicycle lanes in car-free segments.
