We started well, had a lot of possession. Until the red card I felt we were stable — that went badly for us and, besides the first goal, one of two contentious moments. The boys also played a decent game while down to ten, but overall we had little luck.

We had enough chances to score a goal. Even after the deficit we invested a lot. That hurt at times, because the opponent came on counterattacks. If you don't score, you lose such a game. The tiniest bit of luck simply wasn't on our side.

Unfortunately we were a bit overwhelmed by an opponent who clearly isn’t our kind of game. We showed good signs in the first half. But the Leipzig players had what we still lack in some areas – they’re more experienced and were simply brutally effective. In addition, they won the duels, the second balls and the set pieces against us. Our players are still in a learning process.

I do watch the rivals' games—but without a calculator. All the opponents tear themselves apart against us even more; so much is happening in this league that you don't have to apologize for any result or any position.

We had expected a different start, but the team showed a great reaction, created many chances, and took a 2-1 lead. We waited for the gaps and in the second half then had the will to grind it out and take this victory home.

I want to be a role model for the young players. Of course, I first have to perform. Our coaching staff is doing a really good job and constantly provides outstanding training sessions. I feel totally fit myself. Having Pekarik in the team does me good. He is a running machine. We often do extra sessions. Sometimes the young players lack a bit of cool-headedness, but they are allowed to make mistakes. I help them in the locker room and on the pitch. It works well.

Health is the most important thing. Furthermore, I want to develop physically and mentally, work even more professionally, and gain a lot of experience.
